Grandpa, from the stop-motion animated film Coraline (often referred to as "Other Father" or "Other Grandpa"), is a fabrication created by the Beldam, an evil entity residing in the Other World. He is a whimsical, oversized version of Coraline's neighbor Mr. Bobinsky.

His primary purpose is to lure Coraline into staying in the Other World permanently. He is presented as more attentive and entertaining than Mr. Bobinsky, showering Coraline with acrobatic mouse performances and general merriment.

However, like all of the Beldam's creations, Other Grandpa's charming facade is a deception. He is controlled by the Beldam and lacks true agency. When Coraline rejects the Other World, he becomes aggressive and monstrous, revealing his artificial nature.

Ultimately, Other Grandpa serves as a warning against idealized fantasies and the dangers of seeking validation in superficial pleasures. He represents the Beldam's manipulative tactics and her willingness to distort reality to trap her victims.
